Based in Italy and with international experience gained in Germany, France, and the United Kingdom, Jacopo Romei wrote his first code in 1984 on a Commodore 64 and began programming for money in 1996. By 2011, he had founded three companies and closed two.

He introduced agile methods at eBay, Siemens, FAO, and many other corporations. He has always believed that public speaking is crucial for spreading his message, validating it, and promoting it.

As an author, he has published several books, including texts on Agile coding practices and Extreme Contracts: knowledge work from negotiation to collaboration. He is a frequent speaker at international conferences, where he shares his vision on how the world of work is evolving in the knowledge work industry and on the management of organizations.

He assists companies, startups, and professionals in establishing new businesses, minimizing their risk and maximizing their return on investment, effectiveness, and enjoyment. Occasionally, those businesses are his own.
