The module is designed to explore the intricate interplay between individuals, groups and organizations, drawing on a wealth of theoretical and empirical insights from management, psychology, sociology and economics. It examines the multifaceted dynamics of organizational behavior, exploring how individuals and groups come together and are shaped by their organizational contexts. The module analyzes organizations as complex social systems, unveiling the forces that drive organizational change and adaptation. It investigates the balance between stability and innovation and the critical role of leadership in navigating turbulent environments, including theories of leadership, communication, and emotional intelligence for performance management. In addition, the module traces key evolutions in management thinking, from Scientific Management to the Human Relations Movement, to understand how past theories inform current management practices.
